Girl’s Rare Condition Stumped Doctors At Birth, Now She’s 13 And Has Already Had 33 Surgeries

When Grace Novacheck was born, it was clear she was different from other babies — but doctors spent her first month of life struggling to diagnose her.

Finally, doctors discovered Grace was born with Escobar syndrome, a rare condition that causes the shortening and hardening of her joints, which greatly affects her jaw, neck, arms and legs.

Not only that, but Grace also has scoliosis… and her body is constantly fighting against medical treatments.

“Every time that we do something in the operating room her genetics want to reverse it,” Grace’s dad told Barcroft TV. “Her ankle at one point after she came out of the operating room was a 90-degree angle, and over time it’s reversed.”
