A father murdered his five year-old son who had Down syndrome, then lied that the youngster was killed by robbers, police say.
Jamal Anderson is accused of fatally shooting his son Jamal Jr in the stomach at a house in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on February 8.
Anderson Sr, a suspected heroin dealer, is then said to have offered conflicting versions of what happened, initially telling police he had been the victim of a home invasion.
He claimed to have been confronted by two suspects, who forced him and Jamal Jr into their apartment, before shooting the little boy and fleeing.
Suspicions about Anderson’s story grew when police found a backpack partially buried in the snow outside Anderson’s apartment building with a .40 Glock buried inside.
