Call The Midwife praised for shining a light on blind mothers

In scenes that aired tonight, Trixie (played by Helen George) helped Marion (Ellie Wallwork) take care of her newborn baby and it soon became clear there was going to be a rocky road ahead when Marion’s sister Beryl (Lucy Briggs-Owen) threatened to call the social services to intervene.

To make matters even more stressful, Marion insisted that she didn’t need any help looking after her child while her husband Stewart (Dylan Llewellyn) was out at work all day.

However, disaster struck when she walked over shards of glass to get to the youngster after accidentally shattering a bottle in the kitchen.

Her accident sparked an important conversation though, and soon prompted her to admit she needed some sort of assistance around the house.
